Corn Snakes Rescued

Recently we have welcomed two new “Corn Snakes” to Mini Zoo UK, these are rescued as the past owner could no longer take the time to look after them.

The owner sent us a message asking if we could take on the animals, which we gladly took over and are now offering these two animals a home for life.

The two corn snakes are still quite young, under a year old but friendly and will make a great addition to the “Zoo Outreach Program” when older.

Some quick facts for these animals:

  • Corn Snake (Pantherophis guttatus)
  • Family: Colubridae
  • North American species of Rat Snake
  • Very common in the reptile hobby, in a number of different colour morphs.
  • ICUN: Least Concern.
  • Lifespan in wild: 6-8 Years
  • Length: 61 – 180cm as an adult
  • Clutch size: 10 – 30 eggs.

The two snakes that have arrived here, have previously been sexed as a Male and Female. They both have a complex genetic mixture.

MALE: Opal Diff Tessera het Anery, 66% Charc, Hypo.
FEMALE: Ultra Lavender Charcoal Het Anery 50% Hypo.
